Tournament Review

Thank you for visiting the Abingdon Open 2019 pages. This year the tournament ran from Monday 12 th August through to Thursday 15 th August. The competition was played in relatively good weather, apart from the Wednesday when the persistent rain in the morning resulted in the cancellation of the days play, with some competitions being cancelled all together, and some being moved to the Thursday. Many thanks to the competitors and their parents for accommodating this enforced change. I would again like to thank Julia Freeman for refereeing the entire tournament. Also, my thanks go to Jim Eastwood for his expertise on the IT side of things, and keeping the Abingdon Tennis Club web site and the LTA web site up to date with all the competition details. Finally, thank you to all the competitors for the excellent tennis they put on. There were many matches that were played to a high standard. The sportsmanship was again first class. Thank you to all of you for making the Abingdon Open Tennis Tournament 2019 another week to remember for a long time. Julia and I hope to see you all again for the 2020 Abingdon Open, which will run from August 10 th to August 13 th . Craig Amison-Smith Tournament Director
