The Family Doubles
Competition this year was a round-robin competition where each pair
play all the other pairs. The top two pairs were Stephen and his
father Graham Piddock, and George Collier and his mother
Gillian.
The finals day on Saturday 21st August was a particularly busy day for Stephen Piddock. The Family Doubles final was delayed to the very end of the day because Stephen was playing in the Finals of the Boys Under 12 Plate and Boys Under 14 Plate, the latter of which was a very long and close struggle ending in a final set tie-breaker. It looked like he was set for another hard struggle as the first set of the Family Doubles went to 7-5, but then the Piddocks ran away with the final set.
